About Opportunity
We are looking for volunteer drivers covering 3 different roles. It may be you are able to help with more than one of these? Using your own transport, driving our Day Hospice patients to and from their homes to the Hospice on either Mondays, Wednesdays or Thursdays as well as occasional transportation of our patients to other locations. Helping to drive the Hospice’s Shuttle vehicle collecting staff, volunteers and patient’s vistors from certain points close to the Hospice. This is a 7 day a week service and we would be looking for you to be available for one or two volunteer shifts per week for about 2.5 or 3 hours each time. We have a new volunteer role driving between our two main bases in Edinburgh – both our Gogarbank and Boswall Road sites. We would be looking for you to be free for about 2 hours between Monday to Friday and hope to attract a small team to cover this new role.

About St Columba's Hospice
Here at St Columba's Hospice in Edinburgh, we are committed to the highest standards of care for patients with active, progressive, far-advanced illness - and support for their relatives and carers. All of our palliative care services are provided free of charge. Our activities also encompass a range of educational and research programmes. We have both paid specialist staff and some 500 volunteers.
Skills & Experience
Applicants require a clean driving licence and, ideally, have experience in similar driving roles. However, this is not compulsory. Strong interpersonal and communications skills would be an advantage. If using your own car in the role, a fully comprehensive insurance policy is a key requirement.
Travel Details
All roles would be based at the Hospice’s new temporary premises at Kirklands House, Gogarmuir Road, Edinburgh, EH12 9BZ. Travel expenses will be reimbursed.
