About Opportunity

Volunteer for the Children’s Panel and make a vital difference to the lives of children and young people. Involves aspects such as reading of background information regarding cases; attending at hearings approx. twice a month; on-going attendance at training provided; other involvement in recruitment activities, if desired. Full training is provided.

About Aberdeen City Council - Children's Panel

The Children's Panel requires volunteers over the age of 18 from all occupations and walks of life, with an interest in the wellbeing of children - from infants to teenagers who are at risk or are in trouble.

Skills & Experience

Interest in childrens' welfare and ability to relate to them. Caring attitude.

Training and Induction Details

A buddy system is in place for all new members. Full induction and in-service training. Recruitment for new volunteers every August. Intensive training provided.
