About Opportunity

If you have an interest in helping people improve their everyday lives this could be for you. We are looking for individuals to work with adults on a one-to-one basis, to improve their reading and writing skills. Examples include: * reading, writing, spelling * confidence, conversation * everyday maths * filling in forms * writing letters You will receive training and ongoing support to help make a difference.

About Community Learning and Regeneration *

To provide support to adults wishing to improve their literacy and numeracy skills. This may be to help with everyday living, or as a route into education.

Skills & Experience

No formal academic qualifications are necessary - rather we look for individuals who are patient, understanding, and sympathetic. While there are formats to follow, flexibility is key - no two weeks are the same!

Travel Details

Often based in the Community Education Centre, Edward Street, Dunoon, but can be in venues to suit those involved, such as the library or a village hall.

Restrictions

No upper age limit - life experience valued.

Induction/Training, Informal Chat, Police Check, References

Training and Induction Details

Must complete the provided nationally recognised training course (ITALL). Practical support is provided on a day to day basis, for example in planning study and finding resources. Also an opportunity to gain a professional qualification.
