About Opportunity

No particular knowledge is required as full training will be provided. Some understanding of carers' needs is desirable but not essential. Personal experience of caring would also be beneficial as would a knowledge of community care. More important, however, is the ability to empathise with carers.

About Princess Royal Trust Highland Carers Project

The Highland Carers Project provides information and Advocacy for carers in Highland. The Advocacy service provides support for individual carers to take up issues which affect them as carers - for example with Social Work Services, Health Services, Housing or Education. Trained volunteer Advocates assist with the delivery of the service.

Travel Details

The job will involve working with carers across the Highlands. The volunteer may be required to visit carers at home and accompany them to meetings. Access to a car is desirable but not essential, especially if working with carers in Inverness. We have office bases in Inverness and Easter Ross.
