About Opportunity
Volunteers expected to attend court from 9.30am on one day a week generally a Thursday or Friday. They should allow a full day, however in practice court business is often finished before 1pm. Volunteers are required to meet witnesses arriving at court and explain to them the process of being a witness. They should also offer where possible the opportunity to see the empty courtroom and give explanations about personnel within the courtroom who will ask questions and speak to witnesses.

Training and Induction Details
Four day course following initial interview.2-way evaluation allowing volunteer to decide whether or not it is what they want to do. All aspects of criminal justice system, input from others involved defence solicitor, PF. Based on scenario/groupwork.
