About Opportunity
What is Therapeutic Care? A relaxing 30 minute session consisting of: hand care and hand massage; neck and shoulder massage given through clothing. This simple combination provies a gentle, comforting treatment for those who are anxious, tense, or ill. It aims to: assist relaxation; promote a sense of well-being; offer the opportunity to talk to someone other than a member of staff or family. The service is available on a short term basis to anyone who needs it, we aim to assit individuals during particularly stressful times in their lives, that may mean anything from one week to six months. It is offered to individuals in such places as hospitals, hospices, GP surgeries, day centres, residential homes, etc. Therapeutic Care is delivered free of charge to the user.

Skills & Experience
The service is open to all. Previous experience is not necessary. A Therapeutic Care Volunteers needs to be: Interested in people and their well-being Willing to listen and able to talke easily with strangers Able to offer a regular commitment
