About Opportunity

SeAscape provide a written Guarantee to landlords in place of a cash deposit. This enables clients to access suitable accommodation and prevents homelessness. This vital role will involve interviewing applicants to assess suitability and requirements in order for the Board to make a decision on the support provided by SeAscape

About SeAscape (South Ayrshire Escape From Homelessness Ltd)

Seascape is a service offered by Escape from Homelessness South Ayrshire Ltd. They offer a rent deposit scheme for homeless people of all ages covering all of South Ayrshire.

Clients come from a diverse range of backgrounds with a varied range of needs.

Seascape offer a befriending service to those of their former clients who, when they come to the end of their support period, are not quite ready to cope on their own. Befrienders are asked to commit to a six month period of 2/3 hours a week, usually during the day, either at the clients home or at an mutually agreed venue.

Skills & Experience

Good communication skills, ability to understand related issues e.g. housing benefit and homelessness legislation well enough to provide some basic information if required. Able to deal with all types of people.

Travel Details

Barns Street Office. Office in Girvan will also need to be manned on a demand lead basis.

Induction/Training, Informal Chat, Police Check, References, Trial Period

Training and Induction Details

Training will involve shadowing an existing interviewer, then being supervised by experienced interviewer before being left to carry out interviews on own once ready for it. Further training may be available dpendant on the volunteers needs and requireme
