About Opportunity
Youth Under Focus First (YUF-F) is an independent community group based in Stirling who raises funds solely to provide activities for overweight and obese young people and their families to help them become fitter, lose weight and feel better about themselves. The group is looking for volunteers with a keen interest in sports and activities allowing the children to experience new things, additionally leading to improved fitness, self-esteem and confidence levels. Volunteers should have an interest gaining experience working with children who have variety of social issues. All activities should be fun and competition kept to a minimum emphasising team-building and confidence building. The children in the group have expressed interest in rugby, aerobics, dancing, drama/expressive arts, outdoor adventure activities and walking. Volunteers who have interest in such areas would be beneficial to the group. The children's fitness levels are variable and must be considred in the planning of activities. YUF-F are not just looking solely for coaches of specific sports but also anyone who may be interested in working and gaining hands-on experience with a family community group. This is a great opportunity to be involved in tackling the hot health topic of childhood obesity.

Skills & Experience
- A positive attitude towards the children and their families - Has the ability and confidence to work with children aged 7 years onwards - Coaching/sports teaching experience with children is preferableteaching coaching skills to parents/young people.
Travel Details
Currently at Wallace High School Sports Hall, Forthbank Stadium has been used by the group in the past.

Training and Induction Details
The induction will consist of introducing the volunteer to staff and providing the them with a background into YUF-F and the expectations the group will anticipate from them. Transport to the group activities can be arranged.

Yes- Travel expenses will be paid on a weekly basis if evidence of the use of public transort can be shown (e.g. bus tickets) The milegae rate for claiming back petrol expenses is 35 p / mile and is usually claimed back on a monthly basis.
