About Opportunity
The Volunteer Support Worker will staff the helpline once a month and support a client for one hour per week. The type of support we provide is non-directive as we believe women know what is best for them and will support them with any decisions they make.

About Rape & Abuse Support
To provide emotional support and practical information to women and girls who have been raped, sexually assaulted or abused. We also provide support to family, friends and other professionals. We provide training to external agencies and aim to raise awareness of the issues surrounding sexual violence and its effects.
Skills & Experience
Training will be given, but volunteers should have an interest in women's issues. Volunteers must have good communication skills and show commitment to this type of work.

City centre - on all bus routes.

Training and Induction Details
Basic training is ca 30 hrs over 3 mnths - weekends, evenings, and includes child sexual abuse, rape, trauma syndrome, self-harm, support skills and going to court.
