About Opportunity

The volunteer will be involved in all aspects of delivering workshops, from registering students to providing simple refreshments and clearing up at end of sessions. Teachers/leaders will also ask volunteers to be involved in working with students in practical drama and/or art, helping them to develop ideas through improvisation and evaluate their learning. Moffat Youth Theatre is not an amateur dramatic organisation and so volunteers will be involved in delivering issue based workshop, following a theme for a term.

About Moffat Youth Theatre in Education (Social Skills Based)

Since 1982 we have offered social skills based intervention for children and young people aged 5 - 25 years through Creative Drama Workshops. We specialise in inclusion, especially for young people with social skills spectrum disorders. Although originally disability specific, the classes are now open to all young people. There are no auditions or entrance tests. All our staff are qualified and experienced teachers. All our work concentrates on Social Interaction and the goal of self-esteem.

Skills & Experience

A willingness to work with young people in a non-judgemental environment. Total integrity and an understanding of confidentiality. Lots of energy, a willingness to get involved and a large sense of fun.
