About Opportunity

To suppport the formation of young performance bands - linking music, art, movement, speech and social interaction - working with TRASH staff and young people to build skills and share ideas. Could suit someone with music skills in a mentoring role or someone not involved in music with an enquiring and open mind.

About Trash Music Projects

To create music activities and performance and training opportunities, aimed to be as widely accessible as possible, to all ages, abilities; based around using recycled materials and equipment fashioned into instruments. To involve art and craft, speech and movement opportunities as a support this set of aims, again on an accessibly basis.

Skills & Experience

Patience, supportiveness, willingness to learn. Positive attitude to young people.

Travel Details

Central Borders - probably Kelso or St Boswells - both served by buses. Mileage for car drivers.

Restrictions

For the youth band support by older teenagers encouraged.

Induction/Training, Interview, Police Check, References

Training and Induction Details

Initial sessions with staff/senior volunteers. "On the job" support. Follow up support to resolve problems and develop.
