Good Neighbour
When We Need You
From 13/12/2005 onwards
About Opportunity
Our Good Neighbours schemes provide assistance to socially isolated or housebound people by helping with small tasks that a neighbour or family member might normally help with. These include help with shopping, walking a dog, helping to fill a form in, and small DIY or gardening tasks. Tasks that a tradesperson would be not employed to provide. If you would like to help people in your community, and can spare 1-2 hours a week, a fortnight or monthly then we would love to hear from you.

About WRVS Services Aberdeenshire
WRVS services help people to maintain their independence and dignity in their own homes and communities, particularly in later life. WRVS Aberdeenshire Community Services provides support to people living in Aberdeenshire who are socially isolated or housebound for any reason.
Skills & Experience
Volunteers should have a sociable and patient nature; and be willing to undertake relevant training. Volunteers need to feel comfortable going into other people's homes. An awareness of issues affecting older people would be an advantage.
Travel Details
In Deeside we currently have schemes in Ballater and Torphins. We are looking to expand our Good Neighbours into new areas across Aberdeenshire; including Banchory, Aboyne, Westhill, Portlethen and Stonehaven. Currently this service is only available to people living outside Aberdeen City due to conditions of our funding.
