About Opportunity
Support coaches and teachers at after school clubs in Kirkcaldy are needed to help provide a range of extra curricular opportunities for children. Includes the chance to plan and coach parts of sessions.There are a range of primary schools available to work at across Kirkcaldy and a number of different activities to choose from. These include team sports such as football, rugby, netball and basketball as well as other activities such as dance and multi activity clubs. Working from 3.00pm to 4.15pm on the day(s) you choose, you will set up activities, help ensure practices are safe, complete registers and support a qualified coach or teacher. Eventually you will have the opportunity to lead parts of sessions and help plan future practices. The role requires the ability to encourage and support those taking part, regardless of their ability, to help all children experience success and enjoy the coaching on offer. There may also be the opportunity to work during the holidays too.

About Active Schools (VC)
Active Schools aims to make more children, more active, more often. Active Schools aim to raise awareness and the benefits of regular physical activity and offer a wide range of fun, inclusive provision for primary school children. Activities take place at after- school clubs, during holiday periods, at festivals and tournaments and during taster sessions in curricular time.
Skills & Experience
Friendly, approachable, reliable, willingness to speak in front of groups of children and lead parts of sessions. Sports coaching qualifications and/or experience would be an advantage but is by no means essential.
Travel Details
Different opportunities and locations within the Kirkcaldy area. Children at clubs are aged between 5 years and 11 years old and the schools involved in the programme are the Kirkcaldy High, Viewforth and Balwearie High cluster primary schools.
Training and Induction Details
Volunteers will be talked through the role and it's responsibilities. They will also be given a support pack with a range of information. A programme of training opportunities will be offered across Kirkcaldy and Glenrothes.
