About Opportunity
Many people living in Aberdeenshire are unable to access public transport due to restricted mobility. Our transport schemes provide one to one transport to enable people to remain living independently in their own homes with dignity. Requests include transport for shopping trips, appointments and social outings. Anyone affected by restrictred mobility can use our service. If you enjoy social contact, would like to help people in your community and can spare 1-2 hours a week, a fortnight or monthly, then this is the ideal volunteering opportunity and we would love to hear from you.

About WRVS Services Aberdeenshire
WRVS services help people to maintain their independence and dignity in their own homes and communities, particularly in later life. WRVS Aberdeenshire Community Services provides support to people living in Aberdeenshire who are socially isolated or housebound for any reason.
Skills & Experience
Volunteers should be reliable, have a social and patient nature & be willing to undertake relevant training. A full driving license and the use of their own vehicle is also required. An awareness of the issues affecting older people would be useful.

We require volunteer drivers across North Aberdeenshire - urgently required at present in Peterhead.

Training and Induction Details
Induction includes information regarding support, health & Safety and the tasks the volunteer is undertaking. Ongoing support is provided by Project Co-ordinators and through regular get-togethers. Training is also offered on any other topic of interest
