About Opportunity

Abbeyfield provides care for elderly people who are unable to continue living in thier own home but who still wish to maintain an independent lifestyle. Our committee has the task of ensuring that the needs of our residents are met through contact with staff, relatives and the residents themselves, whilst being mindful of the legal and financial obligations to regularatory bodies. Practical work includes fund raising activities, arranging open days to publicise the work of the society and gernerally by our presence, let the residents know that they are being cared for.

About Abbeyfield Hawick Society

Provision of very sheltered housing for the elderly.

Skills & Experience

Needs good people skills. Good logical thinker to contribute to committee decisions.

Travel Details

The committee meets in the Abbeyfield House, 2 West Stewart Place, Hawick, approx once per month. Members are encouraged to visit the house and talk to staff/residents at other times.

All committee members need an understanding of the Society's working arrangements and its legal obligations. Information will be given through policy documents and "one to one" with staff and committee members.
