About Opportunity

Working with young stroke survivors assisting them in achieving their goals. Encouraging them to increase their independence and working on a one to one basis to enable them to return to work whether paid/voluntary or accompany them to college courses, outings etc. The group are very pro-active and are at present working on website and designing a leaflet about Young Stroke.

About Chest, Heart & Stroke (EK)

To help people who have had strokes and have speech problems by building up confidence, helping communication and providing social events and outings.

Skills & Experience

Volunteers should have good sense of humour, understanding, non judgemental, good listener, good communicator, friendly, confident and reliable.

Travel Details

Murray Owen Centre, 1 Liddell Grove, Murray, East Kilbride, Tuesdays from 10.30 - 12.30

Restrictions

Police Check & References required.

Training and Induction Details

Conversation support training done in modules. 1st Aid, moving & handling and on-going support with Co-ordinator.
