About Opportunity

About Concordia

Concordia is a small not-for-profit youth charity whose aims are to encourage international youth exchange as a means of promoting greater cultural awareness, international understanding and peace. Short-term international volunteer projects are one way by which we hope to achieve these aims. Our International Volunteer Programme offers 16-30 year olds the opportunity to join international teams of volunteers working on short-term projects in over 50 countries world-wide. The project range is diverse and includes nature conservation, restoration, archaeology, construction, art and culture as well as projects that are more socially based including working with adults or children with special needs, children's playschemes and teaching. Volunteers pay a registration fee of £110 and fund their own travel. Board and accommodation is free of charge. All available projects are currently listed on the website.

Skills & Experience

Volunteers don't need any particular skill but real motivation and commitment to the project are a must.

Travel Details

Projects last for 2-4 weeks with the main season from June to Spetember and smaller winter/spring programme. Volunteers arrange their own travel to the project site.

Training and Induction Details

Through a range of talks, activities and exercises, the preparation weekend will cover practical issues such as health and safety, travel, visas and money and will also go into some of the wider issues connected to North/South exchange: culture.
