About Opportunity
Meals on Wheels Drivers needed to drive council van in Rutherglen area to help deliver hot meals to the elderly or house bound. Without this service these people may not be able to live at home. All our drivers are trained in food safety. All our Meals on Wheels volunteers make a significant difference to peoples lives, some old people are so isolated they only see the volunteer who delivers their meal. A lot of clients befriend the volunteers and look forward to their visit. The volunteers all say they get a 'feel good' feeling after being on their rounds. We offer total support, training and guidance to all our volunteers. Also require volunteers to deliver Meals using own vehicle on a Thursday for a maximum of 3 hours, mileage will be paid.

About WRVS East Kilbride
Main providers of voluntary care within the community. Services include meals on wheels, books on wheels, pensioners clubs and a stroke club.
Skills & Experience
Volunteers should have clean driving licence, good with people. Council require Driver to sit a 5 minute driving assessment.
Travel Details
Rutherglen area. Meals are picked up at Cathkin High School.

Police Check will be required.

Training and Induction Details
We induct all our volunteers and provide training in food safety. We always send a volunteer out with an established volunteer first to learn route.
