About Opportunity

Our Volunteer Drivers provide a valuable service to the local community, they transport and accompany elderly and disabled people to Glasgow NHS Hospitals and local NHS clinics in Cambuslang & Rutherglen. Elderly or infirm people may have difficulties in walking etc., and thereby cause problems for them to seek public transport, and may not be financially able to rely on taxis, therefore by calling on our volunteers, this provides a lifeline for them when they have no alternative means of transport. Becoming a volunteer is as enjoyable to the volunteer as it is beneficial to others. If you are a car owner, and have some free time and would like to give something back to the community. Volunteers do not have to commit to a set number of hours each week, and it is very much up to them how much they want to give. All of our drivers are paid expenses. This valuable service cannot exist without our fantastic volunteers - please make difference to your community! WE ONLY RECRUIT VOLUNTEERS FROM THE RUTHERGLEN OR CAMBUSLANG AREAS, DUE TO FUNDING CRITERIA
