About Opportunity
Working with a project that benefits young people aged 5 plus, from the Greater Govan Area. We provide a variety of services on a Monday - Thursday evening including: training on the use of video cameras and DVD production; dance classes; drama classes. We also work in 3 local high schools lunchtime information sessions for pupils and run full programmes each day of the summer holidays involving sports, arts and crafts, games, trips etc. Govan Youth Information Project relies on the work of volunteers for projects and activities that it carries out throughout the year, and volunteers get involved in all aspects of our work, working alongside and supported by our full-time staff. HOW DO YOU GET INVOLVED? You should contact us ideally by phone, in writing or email [using the contact details on the this page/select the REGISTER INTEREST button]. You will need to undergo our training and go through a Disclosure Scotland check before being taken on, which we will arrange, as well as provide two references. If you do not receive a response within 5 working days, please contact the Volunteer Centre. It generally takes around 4-6 weeks after you contact us to get you started.
