About Opportunity
Each year, AFS (UK) hosts between 80-90 international students (15-18) who stay with a volunteer host family and attend a local school for up to one year. Each host family has a local contact. The local contact is there to answer any questions the student/family may have, and to let AFS staff know of any potentional issues the office may have to deal with. The primary role of the L.C. is to contact the family on a monthly basis. This position will suit someone who supports the mission of AFS and has a desire to volunteer for an international organisation.
About AFS Intercultural Educational Programmes
AFS is a registered charity founded after the first world war by ambulance drivers who evacuated the wounded of both sides from the battlefield. The organisation has since evolved to develop peace through intercultural awareness + understanding. We provide intercultural learning oppertunities through intercultural exchanges across the world. Each student stays with a host family + attends a local school.
