About Opportunity

Each Sea Cadet unit is required to have a management committee whose role it is to provide support for the uniformed volunteers, maintain the fabric of the headquarters building along with raising the funds for running costs of unit and be part of the administration of support from; Marine Society and Sea Cadets and Ministry of Defence (Royal Navy). Training is given in the systems and procedures that apply. Dumfries Units uniformed staff are aware that a strong UMC is required at this time to enable the cadets to achieve their full potential. A full appreciation of the role could be discussed at an informal meeting.

About Sea Cadet Corps Dumfries Unit

The Sea Cadet Corps aims to encourage valuable personal attributes and high standards of conduct in young people, using a nautical theme based on the customs of the Royal Navy. It introduces cadets to an organised disciplined and stimulating environment where they can learn new skills. An organisation designed to promote personal development, self-reliance and team work.

Commitment, willing to learn, a team player with a positive can-do attitude and good inter-personal awareness.

Travel Details

Dumfries Sea Cadet Unit UMC meetings (monthly). Area meetings if required attract travel expenses.
