About Opportunity
This opportunity is particularly useful for those interested in or seeking a career in social care. We are looking for enthusiastic individuals who would make a positive contribution to people with learning disabilities personal development within their own home and in their community. We promote the independence of people with learning disability and aim to enable people to live life to the full. Assisting with the support of people on a day-to-day basis within their own home is a crucial part of this. Tasks would include assisting service users with daily activities and routines as well as with outings to regular social activities. Volunteers would gain invaluable experience of work within a social care setting. Full induction training, as well as access to further training opportunities and travel expenses is provided. Travel Details
Various Locations in the North West and South side of the city. Head Office is based at 9 Lynedoch Street (just off Woodlands Road across from the Sainsbury’s garage), five minutes walk from Charing Cross Railway Station and on the number 44 bus route.
Training and Induction Details
Volunteers are given full induction training in accordance with organisational policy and procedures on the same basis as paid members of staff. Opportunities for further training are also available as relevant to the position.

We pay public transport rates/mileage and reimburse volunteers on a weekly basis.

Frequency & Commitment
Volunteers are encouraged to volunteer for longer periods in order not to disrupt service users’ routines. However 4 hrs per/wk for a 6 week minimum is specified.
Minimum Age
