About Opportunity

Volunteer Drivers are needed to support our more isolated service users to attend our various social groups within the centre as well as some external appointments. We are looking for a reliable, friendly and approachable volunteer who is willing to support service users using their own vehicle. Experience of sign language and/or sighted guide would be useful, although training will be given.

Skills & Experience

Knowledge of the local areas. Reliable but Flexible with an outgoing but patient personality. Clean, current driving licence. Own vehicle in good condition with current MOT and Road Tax Correct insurance (Volunteer Co-ordinator can support)

Travel Details

Throughout the Forth Valley area. Drivers are particularly needed in the Bo'ness, Stirling and Bonnybridge areas.

Training and Induction Details

All volunteers will be offered a basic induction of visual impairment, sighted guide, hearing impairment, communication and volunteer policy. Role specific training will be offered where applicable.

Expenses Detail

Volunteers are covered for travel expenses and general subsistence (not including childcare). This is paid monthly by the BACS system. However individual arrangements can be made.

Frequency & Commitment

At least 2 hours fortnightly. Minimum 6 months commitment
