Children's Camp Co-ordinator - Scotland
When We Need You
From 24/08/2007 onwards
About Opportunity
CALA is a national charity. We have recently appointed a dedicated Childresn's Co-ordinator to develop the Children's and Young People's Service. As part of the expanding service we want to increase the number of children's camps in the Scotland area and want them to be in many locations and centres so that more children with a cleft lip and/or palate across Scotland can enjoy them. We need an individual to firstly research new activity centres within Scotland and then go and visit each activity centre and report on their suitability including location, cost, amenities and activity choices available.

About The Cleft Lip and Palate Association
To further improve the quality of life for all those born with clefts and their families. We do this by offering the most appropriate and meaningful services to all those with or affected by a cleft lip and/or palate. The children's services at CLAPA aims to bring children and young people together who have a cleft and/or palate in a sage, inclusive and fun environment by offering workshops, residential camps and an outlet to get their voices heard.
Skills & Experience
Good report writing skills is essential as well as an awareness of what makes a great children's camp. Work with children and young people prior to volunteering would be beneficial. An ability to work alone as well as feedback to a wider team preferred.

The individual appointed will be expected to research new camps that are located within Scotland and then travel to them and report back on their suitability. Travel costs will be reimbursed. Reports will be sent to London Head Office via email or post.
