About Opportunity
There are a huge range of exciting and challenging opportunities available. Volunteers could be:-assisting kids with disabilities in a special needs school; supporting people with learning difficulties in a day centre; enabling a disabled person to live independently in their own home ; helping in the running of a homeless shelter; or mentoring a young person at risk of offending or being excluded from school. In particular at this time of year we are looking for volunteers to support students with disabilities at UK universities, helping with tasks such as taking lecture notes, helping students to get out socially or providing support with household tasks and personal care etc.
Travel Details
There are around 500 opportunities across England, Scotland and Wales with start dates available throughout the year. Volunteers move away from home and are provided with accommodation, training and support, along with money to live on and the opportunity to be part of a big team of volunteers across the UK.
