About Opportunity
Want to make a difference for LGBT (lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender) young people in your area? LGBT Youth is running an exciting new project that aims to set up a group of dedicated volunteers to increase the number and range of services available to LGBT young people. Volunteers will attend a training weekend, where they will learn a host of skills, including child protection, facilitation skills and active listening. You will then be placed with one of our experienced youth workers to assist with their project. You will also be invited to regular volunteer social events, where there will be the opportunity to meet other LGBT Youth volunteers from across Scotland. All volunteers must be over twenty-five and be able to attend the training weekend from Friday evening to Sunday afternoon from 22nd -24th February. Volunteers will also be required to complete a CRBS check. HOW DO YOU GET INVOLVED? You should contact us ideally by phone or email [using the contact details on the right/select the APPLY! button]. If you do not receive a response within [5] working days, please contact the Volunteer Centre. It generally takes around [2 weeks] after you contact us to get you started.
