About Opportunity
Active Schools Fife aims to introduce more physical activity into children's daily lives through extra curricular clubs, play, travel and dance. We have volunteering opportunities in many roles, including coaches, walk leaders, play leaders and general helpers. There are three main areas of activity. EXTRA CURRICULAR CLUBS Active Schools Fife provides the opportunity for children to participate in regular extra curricular clubs within the school and community. The clubs are designed to increase levels of physical activity and to help children's development of motor skills, co-ordination and sport specific skills. HOLIDAY ACTIVITIES During School Holidays we provide opportunities for primary school children to participate in physical activity programmes within their community. Sessions are designed to generate an interest in various forms of physical activity. ACTIVE LIFESTYLE As well as providing opportunities for structured physical activity, Active Schools Fife plays a major role in education children and parents about the importance of physical activity and how to lead an Active Lifestyle. This includes presentations to parents and the community, classroom sessions with children, health week activities and promoting Active Travel.
