About Opportunity
Have you got experience of working with young people? Could you share stories, lead discussions and stir up debate? Would you like to help inspire young people to think globally? Through assemblies, presentations, games and workshops, volunteer teachers educate young people about development issues and the causes of poverty. They also inspire them to take action to make a difference. As a volunteer teacher with Christian Aid, you will have an opportunity to use and develop teaching and presentation skills. Christian Aid can offer: -induction, initial traininf and flexible volunteering opportunities -free resources -out of pocket expenses -ongoing training opportunities and occasional opportunities to meet our overseas partners.

Travel Details
Scotland-wide. Most volunteer teachers work with local schools in their area. Training usually takes place in Edinburgh or Glasgow.

Volunteers should have some experience of working with young people, and will be subject to a disclosure check

Training and Induction Details
Volunteers will be given introductory training, then offered three training opportunities throughout the year to explore various aspects of Christian aids work in depth

Frequency & Commitment
No minimum, we encourage volunteers to aim for at least one visit a month. We would expect that any volunteer who undergoes training would be committed to pursuing teaching opportunities long term.
