Community Bus Driver
When We Need You
From 10/04/2008 onwards
The team of community bus drivers assist the main bus driver with driving the mini bus on a wide range of routes. These principally involve driving children to the local school, picking up the elderly to come to community events and driving the bus on community day trips and hires. The role involves driving the bus, taking responsibility for passenger welfare, collecting fares if necessary and cleaning the bus as necessary.
The CatStrand is a new multi purpose arts and community centre located in New Galloway. It's main aim is to bring much needed activities, services and facilities to this geographically isolated area through a year round programme of arts and community events; a range of community services including a bus service, a newsletter, drop in advice sessions and free internet access; and to act as a hub for local tourism and heritage information. Catstrand is currently offering a number of different opportunities for volunteers of all ages to get involved with.
