Worker for Dementia Helpline

When We Need You

From 26/04/2008 onwards

About Opportunity

You can work from home with a landline telephone or at our Edinburgh office. We will give you training and ongoing support. There is a minimum commitment of one shift per fortnight. There are 4 shifts during the day and 1 overnight shift. Staff receive few calls overnight and don’t have to stay awake. The Helpline receives over 5,500 calls each year. An interest in dementia or personal/professional experience of the illness is preferable, but not essential. “How do you get involved? Ideally email (or ring us) using the Register Interest button below/phone number on the right - you'll be able to get started if you successfully complete the procedures AND the next basic training course (scheduled for Jan/Feb '09) but you need to be able to commit to then doing 4 hrs per fortnight for 1 year. Glasgow office is wheelchair accessible and has a disabled toilet, and the Edinburgh office can accommodate people with some physical disability, but is not fully wheelchair accessible: we will endeavour to provide basic training in the appropriate location to suit your needs.”
