About Opportunity
Volunteering touches every level of society and by being involved in the Volunteer Centre you can help to support volunteering throughout the Western Isles. Your commitment would be to attend 4 committee meetings a year and to take an interest in the work of the Volunteer Centre. Committee meeting normally last for 2 hours and there is paperwork to read beforehand. In addition, you are invited to gain a greater familiarity with ongoing work at a local level by spending a little time with Volunteer Centre staff.
About Volunteer Centre Western Isles (main office)
We have 5 offices in the Western Isles and 10 members of staff. We aim to encourage people to take part in their local community as volunteers and also in the wider world. Working along side both voluntary and community groups and statutory agencies to promote and develope good practice in volunteering. To assist all organisations that involve volunteers to make volunteering a positive and enjoyable experience, for the benefit of the organisation, the individual and the wider comminity.
Skills & Experience
We are looking for people with a broad interest in working in the community and more specifically promoting and supporting volunteering across the Western Isles.
Travel Details
All committee meetings are held by video link in the council offices in Stornoway, Uist and Barra. Travel expenses can be covered.
