About Opportunity
MECC needs volunteers to help us provide a culturally sensitive care package for older people who are frail, disabled and suffer from dementia. You need to speak URDU, PUNJABI or BENGALI so you can communicate with the clients who attend our Day Care Centre. We provide training for bilingual volunteers and when funding is available we may be able to eventually offer volunteers sessional work. HOW DO YOU GET INVOLVED? To promote the welfare of the older people in Glasgow, primarily for those from black & ethnic minority communities who are most discriminated against & disadvantaged, by networking with statutory or voluntary organisations in a common effort to improve health, alleviate poverty & enhance the quality of life for the older people within their communities.
