About Opportunity
Volunteers are required to offer whatever time they can to befriend/support individuals within the local community. This could be as little as one hour per month. There will be no personal care tasks and for any other support needs full training will be given as required. Volunteers will not be asked to do anything they do not feel comfortable about and we will try as far as possible to match individuals with similar interests. Examples of the role are: -Driving -Tea & a chat -Outing to cinema/swimming/seaside/concerts/football etc -Time spent in the persons home -Arts & Crafts -Work in the garden There are more examples specific to the individual personalities we support.Volunteers are a valuable part of the team supporting our service users and this is recognised in the support and training offered to all volunteer. HOW DO YOU GET INVOLVED? You should contact Wendy Guo at Leonard Chesire Disability to make an enquiry by email or phone using the contact details on the right/select the REGISTER INTEREST button. If you do not receive a response within 10 working days, please contact the Volunteer Centre Glasgow. Arrangements will be made for an informal chat. It generally takes around 4-6 weeks after you contact us to get you started.
