About Opportunity
Are your existing cash-handling skills going to waste, or would you like to learn new skills? Would you like to build up your work experience for your CV? Cashiers are the Credit Union’s initial contact with the public, offering information as well as dealing with payments and other transactions. Volunteers will gain experience and skills useful either for seeking employment or just for job satisfaction. These include cash handling, use of specialist software, general admin and work with the public. Relevant training is given but basic IT skills will be advantageous. Our service is saving, affordable credit and budgeting services. Credit unions are owned by their members and mainly run by volunteers to provide an affordable and ethical financial service. Additional person power will enable us to grow our service and extend it to more communities. We arrange for all volunteers who might come into contact with vulnerable service users to be disclosure checked. Volunteers’ legitimate travel expenses are reimbursed.
