currently there is a NHS dental complaints scheme but private patients have limited options. there are a growing number of private patients currently estimated around 11 million people in the UK. About General Dental Council
the General dental Council ( the Regulatory Body for Dentistry in the UK) is launching an arms- lentgh function to investigate and mediate private dental complaints at a local level. As part of this, when a complaint can not be solved locally, we will convey panels of lay and dental members to hear the complaints and suggest an appropriate course of action.
Skills & Experience
volunteers must be fair and open-minded, able to question and weigh up different sides of an issue and be able to express themselves clearly and confidently.
Travel Details
we will try to hold panels locally - matching panel members to an area near where they live. this will keep travelling down to a minimum. All reasonable travel expenses will be reimbursed.
