About Opportunity

Volunteers guided and directed by the trainer, will assist previously homeless individuals to improve their surroundings and learn new skills. Volunteers will be provided with the appropriate PPE e.g. overalls, masks etc. and will receive training in Safe and Healthy ways of Working, Manual Handling and Correct Use of Ladders.

About New Start Highland

New Start was established to provide practical help to homeless/vulnerable adults moving into a new tenancy. Support is offered with furniture, etc. Lifeskills developed/helped by Outreach team. Trainees have opportunity to access vocational qualifications and support into employment.

Travel Details

At New Start Highland's base in the Carse Industrial Estate, Inverness and within the surrounding community.Volunteers will be transported from New Start Highland to various venues in the Inverness area.

Restrictions

Volunteers are asked to complete disclosure checks due to working with vulnerable persons in the community.

Application Form, Induction/Training, Interview, Police Check, References

Training and Induction Details

As Stated before, Health and Safety, Manual Handing and correct use of ladders along with any training deemed appropriate e.g. COSHH regs. Etc.
