About Opportunity

Feedback through Help the Aged from older peoples groups and forums have shown that people respond better to information given by peers. The feel the person may have better understanding of their own situation. Therefore Help the Aged have started a Peer Speaking Project which includes the Highland area. We are aiming to recruit older volunteers locally and offer training and support. Volunteers will then go on to give talks to local groups.

Help the Aged fight for disadvantaged older people in the UK and overseas. Our aims through information, campaigning, policy, rants, fundraising and development work are to combat poverty, reduce isolation, challenge neglect, defeat ageism and prevent future deprivation.
