About Opportunity

A club for children aged 5 -16 (approx) who have a range of additional support needs. Volunteers can be involved in all aspects of plannning, meetings, preparation and practice. The club has a high staff:child ratio and also supports and liaises with parents to ensure the provision is designed for the individual child. This is a good opportunity to gain experience working with children with complex needs.

About VSA After School Club

Part of the Aberdeen Early Years and Childcare Partnership providing a stimulating environment for children 5-16 years with additional support needs. At the club staff endeavour to offer a child-centred environment where all individuals feel they can participate fully. With a fresh and sensitive approach, staff promote inclusion and anti-discrimination.

Travel Details

Hazlewood School, Fernielea Road, off King's Gate.

Restrictions

All staff must complete a Disclosure Scotland certificate for working with children. Volunteers must be over 18 as the children's ages range from 5 to 17 years.
