About Opportunity
The Tourist information is run on three shifts from 10am-12noon, 12-2pm and 2-4pm. There are already 27 volunteers but we are always needing more to cover for holidays and illness. Brochures from all round the area are available as is a complete list of accommodation and where to visit in the area. There is a lot of information on the walls and there are boards up from the stone ages until now. These give an overview of the area and a lot of history. The work here is very interesting and there is a brilliant group of volunteers but anyone who wishes to join list will be most welcome.

About Langholm Initiative
The Langholm Initiative is a community organisation which covers Langholm and the surrounding area. The Initiative is the umbrella group for a number of organisations including Bonnie Langholm, Walks group and the Christmas lights committee. The Tourist Information office also looked after by the Initiative.
Skills & Experience
Being able to talk to people and to write down where they are from and whether they are staying locally and what they have taken away with them. No experience is necessary.
Travel Details
The office for the Tourist Information is located in the Gallery at the opposite end of the Town Hall in Langholm. There is a regular bus service through Langholm and is easily accesible from Longtown.

Training and Induction Details
The volunteer will be shown by one of the other volunteers as to what happens on the day to day running of the office, however someone is always on the other end of a phone if required. The volunteer will be put in with another member of the office.
