About Opportunity

Collecting can co-ordinators are responsible for servicing CHAS collecting cans in businesses in their local area. This means replacing full cans as well as counting and banking money on behalf of CHAS.

About CHAS (Childrens Hospice Association Scotland)

The Childrens Hospice Assoication Scotland (CHAS) is a Scottish charity established to provide hospice services in Scotland for children with life - shortening conditions. A childrens hospice offers professional care, practical help and emotional support to the whole family usually from the day they are referred until the death of their child and beyond. Rachel House, Scotlands first children's hospice, opened in Kinross in July 1996. Robin House in Balloch opened in 2005. Both hospices are purpose built and each provides ongoing support for up to 200 families across Scotland each year.

An interest in CHAS is essential. Full training will be given

Training and Induction Details

We can visit the volunteer at home and talk them through the procedure and there is always someone on hand in our office 9 to 5 for advice. There is also the opportunity to visit our facilities and we have a conference annually and regular mailings.

Travel expenses can be claimed at 35p per mile at the volunteers convenience.
