When We Need You

About Opportunity
'see me' recognizes the need to work with journalists and broadcasters to inform their coverage of mental health issues. A fundamental part of this approach has been supporting individuals with first-hand experience of suicidal thoughts and feelings, and attempted suicide to publicly tell their own stories. You'll recieve full training to prepareyou for being interviewed by the media, and although interviews have a bigger impact if volunteers disclose their identity, you can choose to remain anonymous. Ongoing support is also provided during and after all media work. Our volunteers have featured in a wide range of local and national press, in magazines and on TV and radio broadcasts and spoken about a variety of mental health issues, including positive mental wellbeing, mental ill-health, suicidal intentions, stigma and recovery.
