About Opportunity
The programme of activities is varied and some are age specific.Activities take place between Monday and Friday and start from 3pm with our after school facility for primary six and seven. They usually finish by 8.30pm. We run seasonal programmes throughout the school holidays and activities are planned accordingly. Volunteers will work within one of our two centres; both within easy walking distance of each other and local transport. Volunteers are an integral part of the programme and are valued members of the team. You will be given relevant training opportunities, ensure that the children remain within a safe and secure environment and are fully engaged in activities. Present activities include: Young Youth Club (3pm-5pm) Mondays,Wednesdays & Fridays. Cinema Club (3-5.30pm) Tuesday; Little Rainbow Club (5.30pm-7.30pm) Wednesday and our Childrens Disco (6.30pm-8pm) Friday. All activities are designed to help improve confidence and self esteem and are delivered in a safe & welcoming environment. Volunteers are also provided with corporate clothing. HOW DO YOU GET INVOLVED? You should contact Royston Youth Action ideally by writing or by email to arrange for more information using the contact details on the right/select the REGISTER INTEREST button. If you do not receive a response within 7 days, please contact Glasgow Volunteer Centre. An informal chat will follow. It generally takes around 4-6 weeks after you contact us to get you started.
