About Opportunity
Many children and young people with a disability have to travel to a school outwith their local area, this in the main results in them having little or no contact with their peers in the local community. This project wants to change! We aim to support and encourage children and young people with a disability between the ages of 8 and 18 to integrate into their local youth projects with their able-bodied peers. There is a wide range of activities for the young people to access from drama groups to judo clubs or from the girls brigade to art workshops. HOW DO YOU GET INVOLVED? You should contact us ideally by phone using the contact details on the right/select the APPLY! button, where we will arrange a time for you to come for an informal chat during which we will give you a welcome pack filled with information about our organisation. If you do not receive a response within 2 working days, please contact the Volunteer Centre. It generally takes around 1 week after you contact us to get you started.
