About Opportunity
We offer day care in Stranraer - Wednesdays and Saturdays and in Newton Stewart - Tuesdays. All are open 10-3pm. We prefer volunteers to attend the whole day or half a day.

About Alzheimer Scotland Action on Dementia
We provide day care, home support, carer support and Memory Clinic Link Worker support services to the people of Wigtownshire and raise awareness We aim to work to our own internal standards and to the principles of the National Care Standards. The principles are dignity, privacy, choice, safety, realising potential and equality and diversity.
Skills & Experience
Previous experience with elderly people with dementia desirable but not essential as training given. The ability to talk to clients and have a good sense of humour.

Training and Induction Details
2 day induction programme including:welcome to the organisation, introduction to core values of working with people, intro to the experiences and needs of people with dementia. Intro to work setting and service provision/function.
