About Opportunity
Are you interested in helping in the community? Do you wish to learn new skills to help you back into employment? We require volunteer drivers to collect donated furniture which will then be sold on to people with a low income so they can have a better quality of life. The position will involve collecting, delivering, loading and unloading furniture in and around the Stranraer area.

About Stranraer Furniture Project
To make available to those persons on low incomes (less than 8K per annum) items of household furniture and white goods at low, easily affordable prices. To reduce landfill dumping by recycling those items of household furniture that would otherwise be put out for dumping by households to improve the standard of living for those persons on low income including - unemployed. lone parents, disadvantaged etc
Skills & Experience
The volunteer needs to be able to work as part of a team or as an individual and to have the ability to follow instructions. A current driving license is essential and training will be given to drive the project vehicles.
Travel Details
We are based in the Enterprise Workshops, John Simpson Drive, Stranraer. Buses are regular from outlying villages and are within reasonable distance of the project.
Restrictions
Must be over 25 years for insurance purposes. We are registered to work with vulnerable adults and not children and are registered with Disclosure(Scotland).
