About Opportunity

General Routine • Report at Reception to have your name entered in Visitors Book/sign in register (fire records). • Prepare in the Volunteer Base where lockers are provided - valuables should be locked away and the key kept on you. Please wear your badge, leaving it on the Badge Board when finished. • Personal cleanliness and freshness is essential. It is important to remember that patients can feel nauseated easily by strong perfumes/aftershaves, smell of smoke etc. • Please refer to the dress code policy for more details. • Wash hands thoroughly before commencing and wash whenever needed thereafter, using alcohol gel as required. Please rewash hands after six applications of alcohol gel. • Please take time to check the volunteers’ notice board before starting for training notices or messages. • Collect the ward update giving current patient situation to help you.

About The Ayrshire Hospice (SC011390 )

The Ayrshire Hospice has been extremely supportive of the Hospice since it began. The Voluntary Service Department within the Hospice co-ordinates the offers of help which come from individuals in the community.

Travel Details

The Ayrshire Hospice, Racecourse Road Ayr. There is a regular bus service, train station is situated half a mile from the Hospice centre.

Training and Induction Details

The volunteer will have initial induction meeting, giving a brief outline of what The Ayrshire Hospice is all about. The volunteer will have ongoing support and supervision.
