About Opportunity
The duties of a guard are to ensure the safety and comfort of the fare paying public whilst on the train, preparation of the train and control of the train in conjunction with footplate and station staff. Duties of fireman are to raise and maintain steam pressure by skillful firing and control of boiler water level. Train drivers control the engine so as to ensure the safety and comfort of the travelling public.
