About Opportunity

Volunteer Helpers required to work with young people in school holiday clubs, after school clubs and youth clubs.

About SOAR Youth Projects

Provide or assist in the provision of facilities in the interests of social welfare for recreation, education, health promotion, exercise & sporting activities or other leisure time occupation of children & young people with physical &/or learning &/or communication difficulties or special needs with the object of improving their conditions of life.

Promote and advance the welfare, education, training and advancement in life of the above said individuals to ensure that, as far as possible, they may develop as individuals and members of society and that their difficulties may be relieved.

The young people should be able to access the scheme around 2 days per week and parents should be informed of their allocated days. The young people should be able to be appropriately grouped to enable them to stay together throughout the duration of the scheme.

Skills & Experience

Patience, an interest in working with young people and a willingness to attend training in childcare and additional needs are required.

Training and Induction Details

Volunteers will be introduced to SOAR's policies and procedures. Regular training provided in many aspects of Additional Needs / Childcare issues to which all volunteers are invited.
