About Opportunity
The aim of the website is to provide a useful news, events and information resource for the local community. The website is a fairly basic ‘no frill’ website to enable as many people as possible to access it without difficulty. It also has a plain text page to enable blind or partially sighted people to read it. You may also be involved in occasional marketing aspects of the website. The Dalbeattie Matters website was established in 2005 and is a joint partnership between the community council and Dalbeattie Community Initiative. In it’s first year, the website was commended and was entered for the Calor Community Website competition. The website contains information on a wide range of topics of interest to local people. Local businesses have free listings and there is a wealth of useful information from bus timetables to library opening times. The site also gets a lot of contact from ex-patriates looking for information.
